The Mercury News – San Francisco’s New Lodge at the Presidio Nears Opening

Mercury News Features Lodge at the Presidio

The Presidio of San Francisco is set to open its second historic boutique hotel, the plush renovated Lodge at the Presidio, this spring. Perched on a hilltop with views of the Golden Gate Bridge, the Lodge has begun accepting reservations for June and beyond to guests traveling to San Francisco’s Civil War-era military post, now part of the National Park Service.

The Lodge will offer 42 rooms on the Presidio’s Main Post in the former Montgomery Street Barracks, built in the 1890s by the U.S. Army. The three-story building has been converted into a historic hotel that invites the outdoors in. Guests can enjoy views of the bay, bridge and city from their rooms or from a teak rocking chair on the hotel’s front porch, or explore the park’s 24 miles of hiking trails, the Walt Disney Family Museum and Presidio restaurants.
