2020 has been a year that has redefined global upheaval. As 2020 draws to a close, there are glimmers of hope emerging that reflect humanity’s capacity to conquer disasters and emerge from the darkness back on to a path of hope and light. It would be wonderful if we could move forward on this new path, but at the last moment, a second wave of the pandemic has shown up, and with it comes the requirement to ‘stay at home’ and only travel for essential purposes. The team at the Inn understands that you would rather be safe at home during the holidays, but at this moment, you have to travel to the San Francisco area, and you require safety and compassion.
The Presidio has provided safety and shelter to soldiers in their time of need for hundreds of years. Inside the walls of the Inn, many soldiers have regained their health and well-being. The team that runs the Inn at the Presidio is part of this legacy and has created a unique holiday gift for the community with decorations of thousands of lights and foliage, emphasizing artistry and design. The lights of the Inn at the Presidio can be seen reflecting into the forest from miles around and seem to call out to the travelers to put aside the stress and anxiety and enter into a warm and nourishing environment where the fire burns warm and the world is once again full of hope.
